With each new day comes the opportunity to increase your productivity! It is important to kick off the morning with a routine of simple tasks that can be accomplished quickly to get your day heading in a positive direction. Take a scroll through some of the things you can do to have a more productive day!
1
Set the Alarm
Pressing the snooze button can be really tempting but waking up early has a lot of benefits. It’s easier to get things done when you have more time in the day. With more hours in the day, you can also be more proactive and accomplish things faster.
To adjust your body to waking up earlier, start by setting the alarm 15 minutes earlier each day and then allow yourself a week to get used to the new amount of sleep you are getting before adjusting it again.
Don't let yourself press the snooze button. If you do, you'll lose out on the amount of time that you could have spent on important activities and tasks, and will feel rushed throughout your morning.
2
Meditate
Meditation can help with a lot of things, including lowering stress levels, relieving anxiety, boosting moods, and improving sleep. Plus, a few studies have linked meditating to better job performance and satisfaction.
Start your morning with a few minutes of meditation.
There are many apps that offer free guided meditations lasting 10 minutes or less. Or you can set a timer on your phone and sit quietly, focused on the sensations of your breath, or repeat positive affirmations, mantras or intentions you want to set for your day.
3
Stay Away from Your Phone
It's easy to fall into the trap of looking at your phone the second you wake up, this can easily cut away time from other morning routines like exercise or eating breakfast.
By checking your phone first thing in the morning, you can increase feelings of stress and anxiety. A recent study found that heavy smartphone users had higher levels of anxiety and depression, so cutting out screen time can play a role in mitigating those effects too. It might be tough to start, but avoid looking at your phone until you are out of bed and started with your day- you may be surprised at how much more productive you feel.
4
Give time to Moisturize
It's important to moisturize every day—whether your skin is dry, oily, maturing, or acne-prone. Moisturizing helps prevent dry, flaky skin and keeps skin cells performing at their best, which helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming.
5
Hydrate
Getting up early to exercise is a smart way to start your day. You don't have to do a 30-minute run or the 4 a.m. routine. Just do a 5-minute stretching routine like eight pushups, a quick yoga routine, or even a fifteen-minute jog. Such activities can get those mental and physical wires going.

Get Your Muscles Moving

7
Eat a Healthy Breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so don't skip it. Have a nutritious and well-balanced meal to give you great energy for your commute or busy office tasks. Eat breakfast every day and your memory and concentration will improve.
8
Plan Your Day
Not everyone makes use of lists. However, if you’re struggling to make sense of your goals or are having trouble keeping track of them, a list can help.
Here's a tip on how to write your to-do list:
At the start of each day group your tasks into the four categories prescribed by the Eisenhower Matrix:
- Urgent and Important
- Less Urgent but Important
- Urgent but Less Important
- Less Urgent and Less Important
Focus on completing items in category one first. You can then schedule the tasks in category two, and delegate the items in category three For those non-urgent, unimportant tasks in the last category, you can still do them when you have the time. This process will help you figure out which tasks are vital, and which ones need to be filtered out of your list.
Creating positive habits may significantly benefit your life. Daily routines that incorporate healthy and mindful habits may not only help you stay on track but may benefit you mentally, physically and emotionally.
At the end of the day, it’s all about being a step ahead. These might be little, mundane things and tasks, but it helps build a healthy habit and instil discipline. Remember failing to plan is planning to fail. We hope these steps help you out as you start your morning and make your day a little brighter.
